Axed: Match Game

US game show Match Game is no more.

Variety reports ABC has cancelled the show after five seasons.

The fate of the show had been the source of speculation in the wake of host Alec Baldwin’s accidental shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of the independent film Rust last year.

But the decision is reportedly not related to that incident.

The most recent season was shot before the pandemic began and only aired two new episodes in 2021.

Season 4 is currently screening Australia Sundays on FOX Arena.
