“Nothing beats dogs”: Ita confirms second season planned for Muster Dogs

ABC is set to return to is breakout summer series on kelpie puppies.

2022 may be Year of the Tiger but according to TV it’s fast becoming the year of the dog.

In addition to The Dog House and A Dog’s World with Tony Armstrong, we’ve already seen Muster Dogs on ABC.

And according to ABC a second season is in the pipeline.

Speaking to the National Farmers’ Federation Conference this week, ABC Chair Ita Buttrose said, “…when it comes to bringing country and city together, nothing beats dogs, especially those adorable kelpies on Muster Dogs.

“This program was the standout hit of ABC Sunday night summer viewing. To say it was a runaway success would be an understatement. It was loved by both regional and city audiences with an average audience of close to one and half million. As many of you know, Muster Dogs tells the stories of remote and regional farmers as they train their new puppies. It’s entertaining. And in the tradition of Blue Hills, it is value-added, too, exploring the benefits of using dogs as a more environmentally sustainable mustering practice that puts less stress on the cattle.

“Stand by for international sales of the program!,” she teased.

“And yes, a second series is being planned.”
