Renewed: The Goldbergs

'80s themed comedy becomes the longest-running live-action network comedy series in the US.

The Goldbergs has been renewed for a 10th season, making it the longest-running live-action network comedy series currently on the air in the USA.

The renewal comes as little surprise given that ABC inked a new deal with star / EP Wendi McLendon-Covey to continue while original cast members Sean Giambrone, Troy Gentile and Hayley Orrantia also have closed deals to return, alongside Sam Lerner.

Deadline reports the comedy also lost two core cast members in the past 13 months: George Segal, who died in March 2021 of complications from bypass surgery, and Jeff Garlin, who exited in December following multiple misconduct allegations and HR investigations.

Season 9 is screening in Australia on 7flix on Monday nights.
