The annual Fifth Element marathon
It's 13 hours of Bruce Willis next week on VICELAND.

Next Thursday SBS VICELAND will screen its annual marathon of 1997 Bruce Willis movie The Fifth Element.
Beginning from 12 midday, it forms part of a “Fifth of the 5th” event and finishes after 1am.
In the past sources suggested the film has been the channel’s most watched film, and fits with Charter as being an English-language French sci-fi.
I’m not sure why that warrants a 12 hour marathon, but anyway…
In February the channel screened NZ movie Hunt for the Wilderpeople 7 times in back to back screenings to mark New Zealand’s national day Waitangi Day.

Guess they don’t have the rights to May the Fourth then.
Since its release in 1997 I have seen this film seven, or is it eight times including on the big screen, as a movie it’s not exceptional, so I don’t know why I end up watching it, (yes I do, it’s Milla Jovovich). It’s now about four years since my last viewing, so maybe I’ve grown up a bit. Maybe. Fifth Element is one of Luc Besson’s better creative efforts, his career has drifted away since then.
Make it stop! Make it stop! For the love of reason, make it stop!!!
I love how SBS do this each year, I always watch it at least once.

Love it!
Yeah why a 12 hour marathon???? It’s 5th of the 5th all day – make it a 24 hour marathon!!!
Good point and I agree!
