The Voice 2022: meet the cast

More amazing singers take to the stage on Seven this year.

If you thought the amazing talent in 2021’s feelgood season of The Voice could not be matched in 2022, you’re in for a surprise.

Keith Urban, Rita Ora, Guy Sebastian and Jessica Mauboy return as coaches tonight on Seven -and some of the vocalists are captivating.

Coaches get two blocks this season, and can use them at any point during a Blind Audition, including interrupting a rival coach’s pitch. This season introduces the coveted Battle Pass, allowing coaches to fast-track artists straight through to the Battle Rounds. Also new this season is The Callbacks: a new round for the coaches as they must decide who they will take through to the next round from their chosen 12 artists.

Each coach will review their team during a deliberation to decide which artist goes straight through to The Battles, which artists will be grouped to perform in The Callbacks and
which artists will go straight home. Teams will go from 12 to six artists.

After The Callbacks are complete, each artist must prove their star power again to their coach against their fellow artists in the Battle Rounds. In the Battle Rounds, each coach
pairs their six artists into three groups of two.

The winners of each Battle will then perform a Sing For Your Life song to determine the final two artists on each team to progress to the Semi-Finals. The Semi-Final sees each coaches’ remaining two artists singing for survival with their last chance to claim their position in the Grand Final.

The top-four artists take to the stage with their coach for a show-stopping duet. At the end of the Grand Final, Australia will decide which of the four finalists will be crowned winner.

The series by ITV Studios Australia is hosted by Sonia Kruger.

  1. The Voice has approx 62min content per episode, the singers get 90sec to show us what they have got. If we are lucky we will get about 7 singers so that’s 10min 30sec of actual listening to the contestants voice. How about less ramble from the coaches and more singers?!?!

  2. Meet the cast of the Voice. *proceeds to name 85 people* lol.

Remember back when it was just people going up on stage who we knew nothing about until that moment. I find ot so strange naming complete randoms, many who won’t even make it beyond the blind auditions I assume. That’s not a dig on you David, just the whole construct of things these days coming from the network I guess.
