Legendary Maggie Beer has packed the mystery box for MasterChef contestants.

It’s Maggie Beer time in the MasterChef Kitchen tonight.

Monday, May 23
Our top 16 contestants enter the MasterChef kitchen for today’s mystery box challenge. They are thrilled to discover that today’s mystery box has been set by the Queen of the kitchen, the legendary Maggie Beer. ​Maggie has packed the mystery box with ingredients from her very own pantry. Contestants have 75 minutes to cook a dish using one or more of the ingredients in the mystery box. They have access to under the bench staples to which Maggie has added her own vino cotto and verjuice. The pantry and garden are closed. The four least impressive dishes will send their makers into tomorrow’s pressure test.

Tuesday, May 24
Today, the four least impressive contestants from yesterday’s mystery box challenge face off in a pressure test. Andy introduces fish butcher extraordinaire, Josh Niland. Josh explains his philosophy to the contestants and reveals his first ever pressure test dish, tuna wellington with mashed potato and tuna gravy. While the contestants have four hours to replicate the dish, Josh warns them not to be deceived by the simple appearance of the dish.
The recipes, ingredients and all the equipment they will need to create this dish, is at their benches. Whoever cooks the dish that is least like Josh Niland’s in taste and appearance, will be eliminated from the competition.

Wedesday, May 25
Our top 15 contestants arrive at the stately Werribee Mansion to discover today’s team challenge will be a service challenge for 60 hungry diners. Split into three teams of five, the contestants must turn ordinary ingredients into extraordinary food, using only basic fruit and vegetables plus secondary cuts of meat. The contestants must turn these humble ingredients into a fine dining entrée and main course worthy of being served at a mansion. The team that creates the best two course meal, will cook off in tomorrow’s immunity challenge.

Thursday, May 26
The winners from yesterday’s Werribee Mansion service challenge are cooking for a chance at immunity from Sunday’s elimination. Jock explains that today’s challenge will take place over two rounds. In round one, the contestants must produce an exceptional dish using an air fryer, one of the most popular cooking appliances on the planet. With 45 minutes on the clock and access to the pantry and garden, the three most impressive dishes will go into round two. In the final round, the contestants have 60 minutes to cook a sweet or savoury dish using a deep fryer. At least one element of their dish must be deep-fried. The maker of the best dish wins immunity from Sunday’s elimination.
