One World, One Masked Singer global edition announced.

A global version of Masked Singer brings together acts from around the world.

A new global edition of The Masked Singer has been announced.

One World, One Masked Singer will see acts from various territories all competing against each other – which would suggest some very big names for it to work on a global level?

“This project has been a dream of mine since I realized that The Masked Singer was going to be a global phenomenon following the success of the format in the U.S.,” producer Craig Plestis of Smart Dog Media said in a statement. “It is now in more than 56 countries, and I cannot wait to gather together delegates from each and every one, in brand new costumes, for an epic competition series to air across the planet in each Masked Singer territory.”

The Masked Singer first premiered in South Korea in 2015 as King of Masked Singer.

It screens in Australia on 10.

    1. I remember (oh so long ago), with Dicko helping judge and Guy Sebastian representing Australia. I think the Dutch contestant won from memory?

(just looked it up – no it was Norway that won (Netherlands came last it turns out), Guy came 7th)

  1. I am cautiously optimistic. I hope it does well, excited to see the format, but worried it will be a spiritual successor to World Idol.
Then again, it might be closer to a Masked, global version of Eurovision, and I am okay with that.

  2. I actually like the UK version the best (Rita Ora is one of the judges) of them all. To my mind the American version has gotten too silly and way over the top. Most of the early reveals I have never heard of. I also like the Australian version off course except for Osher yelling all the time.

  3. I wonder how big some of the names can be if they can only commit to one or two days of filming. I’d hate to see some big performers eliminated early just because they are unable to sign up for the whole season.
