Renewed: Young Rock

Queensland produced comedy is getting a third season.

Very good news for the local production sector with Young Rock recently announced for a third season by NBC.

The Queensland produced series focuses on different chapters of Dwayne Johnson’s life. From growing up in a strong and resilient family to being surrounded by the wild characters of his professional wrestling family to playing football at the University of Miami and beyond.

The series stars Johnson plus Uli Latukefu, Bradley Constant and Adrian Groulx as younger versions alongside Joseph Lee Anderson, Stacey Leilua, Ana Tuisila, Fasitua Amosa, John Tui and Matthew Willig.

Season two filmed on location around South-East Queensland and at Village Roadshow Studios. Matchbox Pictures oversees the production on the ground, partnering with Universal Television.

Created by Nahnatchka Khan and Jeff Chiang, it screens in Australia on FOX8.
