French crime drama Missing Angel premieres this Thursday at SBS on Demand.

In June 2012, Suzanne Brunet’s (Muriel Robin) 17-year-old daughter Julie vanished. 8 years later, while caring for an in-home patient, Suzanne comes across an old newspaper with a photo that catches her eye. It was taken a year and a half earlier, at a farmer protest in Tence, a tiny village hundreds of kilometres from Bordeaux. One of the protestors is a woman pictured from the back, in a striped t-shirt. The same shirt Julie was wearing the day she disappeared! It’s the first sign in 8 long years, giving Suzanne a tremendous boost and a glimpse, a light at the end of the tunnel.

  1. This appears to be a French version of The Missing with a revised title, but I have to say that maybe, just maybe there are one too many shows with frantic mothers (usually single) and dysfunctional or missing teenage daughters being made.
