The Voice culls singers, MasterChef dips for 10.

Seven News, ABC News, The Weekly all win slots on Wednesday.

Ouch. It was a brutal cull on The Voice last night as 48 singers were whittled down to 24.

The show did dip in viewers to 652,000 metro viewers but still led the entertainment pack. From here on it looks to be a Sunday night proposition from Seven as Big Brother moves into weeknights.

Trailing the show were Travel Guides (578,000), Hard Quiz (505,000), 7:30 (485,000) and MasterChef Australia (399,000) -the latter was down but did top 16-39 demos.

Later The Weekly with Charlie Pickering led at 441,000 then Tomorrow Tonight (278,000), The Thing About Pam (248,000 / 169,000), Britain’s Got Talent (241,000) and First Dates (240,000).

Seven network won Wednesday with 31.4% then Nine 27.6%, ABC 17.1%, 10 16.2% and SBS 7.8%.

Seven News was #1 with 956,000 / 901,000 for Seven then The Chase (565,000 / 367,000) and Home & Away (484,000).

Nine News was 846,000 / 822,000 for Nine. A Current Affair was 586,000 then Hot Seat 394,000 / 274,000.

The Project drew 332,000 / 200,000 for 10. 10 News First was 285,000 / 181,000. Bull managed 131,000.

ABC News led its slot at 589,000. QI (198,000) and The Drum (180,000) followed.

On SBS it was MH370: The Lost Flight (146,000), Tony Robinson’s Coast to Coast (145,000), SBS World News (138,000 / 120,000), Mastermind (85,000) and Cobra (71,000).

7TWO’s The Coroner led multichannels at 113,000.

Today: 170,000

  1. I’ve switched off from Today. Seems to be a trend. Just tired of the over the top antics I guess. It’s gets annoying. Moved to News Breakfast to get the news without the fluff!

    I think it’s actually 24 (6 per coach)

  3. Its no wonder Today is dropping. Viewers have woken up to the fact that Langdon and Stefanovic are Costello’s puppets. The LNP bias displayed by them when interviewing Albanese is an absolute disgrace.
