Travel Guides: May 17

Travel reviewers stay in Sydney for a coast walk, tall ship, The Rocks, Double Bay and more.

Next week our Travel Guides don’t wander too far.

They’re in Sydney taking in the sights, food, a coast walk, tall ship, The Rocks, Double Bay and more.

With millions of tourists each year seduced by one of the sexiest cities on the planet, our Guides will spend a week living like a local and go behind the fabulous beaches, the houses, and the famous Harbour Bridge to discover if Sydney has a beauty that’s more than skin deep.

Will our Guides decide if the other side of Sydney is worth seeing or is it just a pretty face? To kick-off their holiday in true Sydney-style, our Guides walk along the 4km stretch of stunning coastline from Bondi to Bronte – a morning ritual for eastern suburb residents showcasing some of the hottest scenery in the city – both natural and sculpted.

Next, it’s time to trial some of the latest fitness crazes sweeping Sydney including an outdoor aerobics class with RetroSweat that leaves some of our Guides in need of a hip replacement! And Supball at Manly Wharf which is a unique cross between netball, waterpolo, lacrose, and rugby – all done on a stand-up paddle board.

Our Guides’ holiday hits The Rocks where they step back in time exploring Australia’s oldest European settlement loved by tourists and locals alike for its cafes, pubs, and markets.

Next is a harbour cruise on-board a Tall Ship for a genuine sailors experience. Some of our Guides overcome their fears and scale 22 metres high to the crows nest for the best vantage point – and others prefer the view safely from the deck.

7:30pm Wednesday May 17 on Nine.
