2022 Gold Logie nominee: Hamish Blake

“If you have to be cajoled into voting for someone’s popularity, then I’m not sure they’re that popular!” jokes Hamish Blake.

Lego Masters host Hamish Blake is another who says he has no campaign for the Gold Logie, but here’s how he is feeling ahead of the big weekend.

How does it feel to be a Gold Logie nominee for 2022?
HB: It feels surreal, I mean, it was ten years ago I won Gold so for anyone in TV, to still be working ten years later is a surprise unto itself.

What’s been the highlight of your TV work over the past year?
HB: We have many on LEGO Masters but for me it usually involves me doing something ridiculous, while really talented people try and focus on LEGO. Probably playing the tympani drums loudly to add “atmosphere” while people were competing in the finale stands out!

Give us your best campaign lobbying… why should viewers vote for you?
HB: Haha, I have no campaign! My campaign is “if you have to be cajoled into voting for someone’s popularity, then I’m not sure they’re that popular!”

If not you… then who?
HB: I think anyone up there would more than deserve it for what they bring to TV but if I had to pick, I’d love to see Julia Morris’s speech.

Live voting for all the Most Popular awards, including the Gold Logie, is open right through until the end of the red carpet telecast on June 19. Fans can now vote for their favourites from the shortlisted nominees at tvweeklogiesvote.com
