Shaun Micallef’s Brain Eisteddfod: promo

First look at Year Eleven students tested by Shaun Micallef on 10.

Not quite It’s Academic, not quite Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader?, new 10 series Shaun Micallef’s Brain Eisteddfod has unveiled its first promo.

Produced by Lune Media the series will see Year Eleven students tested by Shaun Micallef, to determine which school’s team has the country’s biggest brain-box.

An airdate is yet to be announced.

  1. Further proof that Shaun could host a show about pain drying and it would still be absolutely brilliant. I like that the students call him ‘Sir’ to add to the illusion. Count me in!

  2. It seems to be quite cool, especially with Shaun as host. It’s also surprising how many school students of that age actually know Shania Twain songs and the musicians of the past eras. Probably because of radio.

    A somewhat similar concept is the modern UK version of Blockbusters hosted by Dara Ó Briain of Mock The Week fame. It features Sixth Form students which is the equivalent of Year 11 and Year 12 students. The main difference which does make a significant difference is the use of a gameboard screen where correct answers lead to advancement on the gameboard until the goal is reached, which results in prizes. Where as it seems that it’s just questions and answers with scores on Shaun Micallef’s Brain Eisteddfod.

    Learning shouldn’t be boring so I think Shaun’s humour will help. I personally would have gone beyond just questions and answers with more added features.

    Though it’s just the promo so far.
