Spicks & Specks introduces the Secret Song

A brand new game will be added to ABC's next music quiz season.

Adam Hills has resumed filming Spicks & Specks for ABC after Myf Warhurst returned from Eurovision duties in Italy.

The upcoming season will introduce a brand new game, the Secret Song.

“Throughout every episode, I drop clues and hints as to what a Secret Song is and then at the end of the show, they get bonus points if they work it out,” said Hills.

“But we’ve designed it in a way so that if you’re watching it at home, hopefully you’ve also got the game to play. Some of the clues are really obvious, like dropped lyrics. One clue involved me pulling out a hemorrhoid cushion. So some things can be obscure.”

Hills also reflected on some of the anecdotes dropped by guests in the next season.

“Montaigne talks about how she wants to write the anthem for the next Women’s World Cup and did a collaboration with David Byrne.

“I literally just walked out of a room were we were working on next week’s show with one of the guys from the electronic duo Peking Duk who talked about how crossing the border from one country to another they smoked everything they had on the bus and then got so high he forgot the word for ‘Toothbrush.'”

Spicks & Specks returns later this year on ABC.
