has locked onto next Sunday night for the return of This Is Your Life, hosted by Melissa Doyle.

Doyle surprises famed Olympian Ian Thorpe during a motivational speech he is presenting at Sydney Olympic Park, as part of the 90 minute special with memories from family, friends and sports colleagues.

Guests and anecdotes include memories from Cathy Freeman, John Howard, Michael Klim, Grant Hackett, Pieter van den Hoogenband, Layne Beachley, Bruce McAvaney, Geoff Huegill and Merrick & Rosso, plus one rival he thought he’d never see again.

More episodes are expected to continues following the Commonwealth Games.

We hear how Ian was invited to Kate and William’s royal wedding and about his special friendship with one of the world’s most famous designers, Giorgio Armani.

Jimmy Barnes will take to the This is Your Life stage for a special performance and speaks about how he and Thorpie struck up an unlikely friendship.

This Is Your Life is an ITV Studios Australia production for the Seven Network.

  2. So the viewer knows who the guest will be before the show-
    a definite no-no in the past.

    But surprise a 2022 audience –
    for many it causes an anxiety attack and a run to their panic rooms.
