Axed: Night Sky

New sci-fi series starring Sissy Spacek and J.K. Simmons is ending at just one season.

That was quick.

New Prime Video sci-fi series Night Sky, starring Sissy Spacek and J.K. Simmons is ending at just one season.

Deadline reports the news comes a month and a half after all eight episodes were released on May 20. The series also featured Aussie Chai Hansen.

Despite launching to largely positive reviews, the series did not make a significant viewership impact while carrying a hefty budget.

But the series will go down in history as first to be following episode one being beamed into outer space, the farthest distance from earth that a TV series has been distributed.

To infinity, but not sadly not beyond…

  1. Night Sky did have an ending of sorts but it’s still disappointing it was cancelled non the less, I guess you could also say Night Sky was another victim of Prime Videos economy drive due to cover the budget needed for ‘The Lord of the Rings, The Rings of Power’, which will be a bit of a worry for Amazon if it too fails to make a significant viewership impact.

  2. Oh no! I thoroughly enjoyed this series and the performances of J.K. Simmons and Sissy Spacek was out of this world. Such a shame more viewers didn’t discover this little gem sooner.
