Fremantle appoints Head of Unscripted

Former ABC and Foxtel exec Josie Mason-Campbell to oversee Unscripted content and development at Fremantle.

Fremantle Australia has appointed former ABC and Foxtel executive Josie Mason-Campbell as Head of Unscripted (Content and Development) responsible for development, creative, production and partnering with broadcasters.

Mason-Campbell was Head Entertainment & Factual at ABC for three years overseeing a slate including Old People’s Home for Four Year Olds, Love on the Spectrum, Revelation, Miriam Margoyles: Almost Australian, Fight for Planet A, Back in Time for Dinner, and was previously Head of Production and Development at Foxtel.

Greg Woods, Chief Executive Officer Fremantle Australia, said: “Josie’s extensive experience will be pivotal in Fremantle Australia achieving our strategic objectives of significantly increasing our unscripted factual slate. Josie comes to us with specialist expertise and strong relationships as well as knowledge of our business and people. We are thrilled that Josie is joining the Fremantle Australia team.

Her appointment follows on from Fremantle Australia’s move earlier this year to focus on Drama, Documentary and Factual with Eureka TV to focus on Entertainment, Reality and Gameshows.

Josie Mason-Campbell said: “ I am beyond excited to be joining Fremantle and tasked with growing its factual slate. After many years working with broadcasters, I’m thrilled to be moving back to the production sector, particularly with Fremantle who have a strong commitment to, and history of, creating high end factual and docs. I look forward to working with Greg and the talented team who currently create the highly regarded and much-loved factual productions; Grand Designs and Restoration Australia, to expand this slate further.

She will commence with Fremantle Australia on Monday.
