More countries pick up RFDS

Italy, Ireland, Africa and the Middle East all board Seven's crowd-pleasing outback drama.

More countries have picked up broadcasting rights for RFDS, which is great to see.

Sky Italia, RTÉ in Ireland and Disney in Africa and the Middle East have now picked up the series. are among companies to have bought the Australia drama RFDS.

The drama has also been picked up by M7 Group in Czech Republic and Slovakia, as well as TV Joj in Slovakia.

These follow earlier sales to Channel 4 in the UK and PBS in the US, TV4 in Sweden, Belgium’s SBS, Talpa in the Netherlands and New Zealand’s TVNZ.

Seven recently announced a second season for the Endemol Shine production with returning cast Emma Hamilton, Stephen Peacocke, Rob Collins, Justine Clarke, Ash Ricardo, Jack Scott, Sofia Nolan, Rodney Afif, Ash Hodgkinson and Thomas Weatherall.

Writers Ian Meadows, Claire Phillips are returning with scripting underway. The series will be produced by Imogen Banks and Sara Richardson and executive produced by Julie McGauran for Seven.

Production will commence in 2023.
