Pointless: “I just want to say how lucky I am to work with you”

Richard Osman has paid tribute to host Alexander Armstrong, and filmed his last ever episode yesterday.

Pointless expert Richard Osman has paid tribute to host Alexander Armstrong ahead of leaving the UK quiz show.

“I just want to say how lucky I am to work with you,” Osman told Armstrong. “I always think at the end of the interview, I must tell Xander in person, which I never do.”

“I will still be on screen for a while in repeats, but yesterday was my final ever episode of daytime Pointless after 12 years,” Osman shared in his tweet (although does that mean nighttime specials?).

Osman filmed his last ever episode yesterday, airing in the UK in September.

  1. This episode was recorded in December 2021, they only just aired out now. The new season with guest co-hosts has already been filmed and they’re about to film a new series of Pointless Celebrities featuring Osman.

  2. Osman has said he will continue with the Pointless Celebrities specials, which they film a block of and then air them on Saturday nights over many months. We still have 95 eps of S26 & 27 to watch.

  3. IIRC David, he’s staying on for Pointless Celebrities but is being replaced on the daytime show by Sally Lindsay, Connie Huq, Alex Brooker, Ed Gamble and Stephen Mangan (on rotation).

  4. Love watching Pointless as with all the U.K games shows, even Tenable is fun. The Aus version of Pointless should have worked & for me personally the host was what let the format down. The amount of times he said Doc turned me off very quickly.
