Liz Hayes speaks to the lottery winners who inspired 'Jerry & Marge Go Large.'

This week on 60 Minutes, stories on the NDIS, the real “Jerry & Marge Go Large” and Olivia.

The Big Steal
It’s a sad reality of life that some truly awful people walk among us. However, the title of “most despicable” must surely go to members of the organised crime networks who have been targeting vulnerable Australians in order to rip off the National Disability Insurance Scheme. The NDIS is supposed to be a lifeline to protect and support people with disabilities and their families. Billions have been poured into making it work. But as Nick McKenzie reports in this joint investigation by 60 Minutes, The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age, all that money has proven an irresistible magnet for criminals. Thankfully though, one of Australia’s most senior crime fighters has now promised to stop the lowlifes and end the big steal.

Jerry & Marge Go Large
Who doesn’t dream of winning the lottery? Jerry and Marge Selbee certainly do. But unlike almost everyone else, they know what it feels like to win. And win. In fact, they are so good at it that over the years they have made more than 39 million Australian dollars. But as Liz Hayes discovers, this retired couple are not the luckiest people alive. They’re just smart. They did the sums and worked out how to beat the system. And when the very charming Jerry and Marge went large, Hollywood couldn’t wait to get in on the action.

Olivia
A singer, an actor, a campaigner who raised millions to find a cure for cancer. Olivia Newton-John didn’t waste a moment of her 73 years. But there was also always time for her greatest love, her family, and especially her daughter, Chloe Lattanzi. Three years ago, Olivia invited 60 Minutes to her ranch in Southern California for what turned out to be one of her last Australian interviews. And it was there Liz Hayes saw what a beautiful mother daughter bond Olivia and Chloe shared.
