2020 UK drama series The Stranger gets a Free to Air broadcast next week on SBS.
The 8 part series based on a 2015 Harlan Coben novel of the same title stars Richard Armitage, Siobhan Finneran and Hannah John-Kamen. It also features Jennifer Saunders, Anthony Head and Stephen Rea.
This previously screened on Netflix.
Adam Price (Richard Armitage) seems to have a charmed existence. Two wonderful sons, a good career, and most of all, a watertight marriage to his soulmate, Corinne (Dervla Kirwan), a teacher at the local school.
One day, however, that all changes when a stranger approaches him in a bar and reveals a dark secret about his wife. As quickly as the stranger came, she is gone. As the stranger’s words eat away at him, Adam begins to investigate his wife and soon finds himself caught up in something far darker – and far bigger – than he initially realised.
Episode One:

Ooh that’s great it’s a great miniseries now I can get my mom to watch it she’s not the best with streaming service’s
I’m also very surprised about this coming to FTA. Following ‘The Five’ (which is on ABC iView), I thought Harlan Coben signed an exclusive deal with Netflix for all of his shows.
I’ve actually been slowly going through the Coben shows (they’re too much of a pulpy sugar rush to watch back to back) and actually just began this series last weekend. At the very least, I would have thought the more recent non-English series would be more likely to screen on SBS than this.
I didn’t realise that Netflix on sells some of their shows.
Sometimes where a show is joint production such as BBC. / Netflix there might be an outcome like this, but I can’t see any evidence of that here.
