Curious Australia: The Alexander Ball, Sistas in Mining.

VICELAND explores a Samoan-Australian pride event, and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander woman who works in coal mining.

Two more documentaries from Curious Australia, a strand of seven stand-alone, half-hour documentaries exploring contemporary Australia, will screen on SBS VICELAND this Thursday.

The Alexander Ball (8.30pm)
The Alexander Ball is an observational documentary extravaganza celebrating Samoan-Australian trans woman of colour, Ella Ganza, and the Meanjin (Brisbane) ballroom scene, as she and her ballroom family prepare for one of the biggest pride events of the year: The Alexander Ball.

Sistas in Mining (9.05pm)
Sistas in Mining is a documentary that follows the inspiring story of Shontell Leah Ketchell, an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander woman, who is an aspiring screenwriter who works as a production operator on a coal mine in Central Queensland.
