Matt Preston v Matt Preston in reality battle

Former MasterChef judge is a believer after being unmasked across two shows in the same timeslot.

Matt Preston went head to head with himself last night as a judge on MKR and unveiled as a singing gnome on The Masked Singer.

The former MasterChef judge sang The Monkee’s I’m A Believer in his first outing on the 10 singing show, but it was a short-lived pop career after losing out to Popcorn.

While Mel B was sure that Gnome was AFL’s Buddy Franklin, Abbie Chatfield chose former achelor Tim Robards, and Dave Hughes settled for Wimbledon champ Goran Ivanisevic, it was Chrissie Swan who continued her winning streak, insisting on Preston.

Unmasked, he admitted to competing, “Because it’s so totally wrong… I have no skill in dancing, no skill in singing. It’s one of those moments where you just go, ok, I have to do this. I have to do this.”

His appearance came at the same time as he made his debut as a new MKR judge, replacing UK’s Nigella Lawson, on Seven.

  1. I think the record might be Myf Warhurst from May last year, appearing on an episode of Spicks & Specks, a repeat of Spicks & Specks and Eurovision on 3 different channels at the same time. Can anyone think of any other situations like that?
