Ryan Moloney unmasked as 10’s singing Knight

None of 10's guessing panel had any idea it was a Neighbours star singing behind a 'beheaded' Knight in very shining armour.

Former Neighbours star Ryan Moloney was the first celebrity unveiled in 10’s bonkers season of The Masked Singer.

Masquerading as The Knight, a reference to ‘Toadie’ coming to the aid of so many Ramsay Street characters, he performed Ed Sheeran’s Bad Habits.

Guessing panel Mel B, Dave Hughes, Chrissie Swan and Abbie Chatfield unsuccessfully nominated Nick Cummins, Shannon Noll, Brendan Fevola and David Hasselhoff as the celebrity behind the costume.

After his unmasking, Moloney quipped: “28 years on Neighbours, I tell you this is the shortest job I have ever had!”

More masks take to the stage tonight: Snapdragon, Rooster, Popcorn, Tiger, Caterpillar.

  1. I completely forgot that this was on last night and caught it just now. Funnily enough, I was spoiled about it being a “soap star”, but I otherwise had no idea who it was, and stayed off this site until I had a chance to watch it. As indifferent as I am to Toadie the character, Ryan’s presence was a pleasantly unexpected surprise.

I thought he sounded a lot like James Blunt, but I didn’t think that Blunt would do the show, and he also didn’t fit the “soap star” profile.

  2. Ryan got to live up to the old Neighbours’ cliché of a singing career after leaving the show!

Maybe it could even feature on a Neighbours’ stars compilation album one day

  3. How can you have never have heard of one of Australias longest soap stars. Even if you never watch Neighbours I struggle to understand how you can be completely obliviant to a few of the bigger names who’ve appeared in it for the last 3 decades.

    1. I agree. I am pretty shocked that some people don’t know who Ryan Moloney is. I haven’t watched Neighbours in a long time, but I know who his character Toadie is.

        1. You’ve been reading here a long time, quite a few posts with Ryan Moloney in them (not that I expect everyone to read every article lol), especially the past month. ‘Toadie’ is what I’d deem a household name, less so his actual perhaps.
