AFL Grand Final Week 2022: Seven guide

Geelong Cats face the Sydney Swans at the MCG on Saturday for the 2022 AFL Grand Final, live and exclusive on Seven.

Collingwood defender Darcy Moore will join Seven’s Grand Final coverage as part of the Grand Final Countdown panel.

Seven’s AFL and AFLW commentary team also includes Brian Taylor, James Brayshaw, Hamish McLachlan, Daisy Pearce, Luke Hodge, Abbey Holmes, Luke Darcy, Shaun Burgoyne, Matthew Richardson, Jude Bolton, Jimmy Bartel, Dale Thomas, Nathan Jones, Campbell Brown, Jobe Watson, Chris Johnson, Emma Freedman, Rebecca Maddern, Justin Leppitsch and Abbey Gelmi. Viewers will enjoy 12 hours of coverage on Channel 7, 7mate and 7plus* across Saturday, kicking off at 7.00am AEST with the Weekend Sunrise AFL Grand Final Day Special and continuing non-stop until the Grand Final post-match presentations and celebrations wind up at about 7.00pm AEST.

Seven’s Grand Final week gets underway tomorrow night when The Front Bar presents its annual Grand Final Special at 8.30pm nationally on Channel 7 and 7plus.

Mick Molloy, Sam Pang and Andy Maher will be at the bar to round out the AFL season, alongside an epic host of footy stars, including recently retired West Coast Eagles forward Josh Kennedy, Gold Coast SUNS coach Stuart Dew, Ryan “Fitzy” Fitzgerald and outgoing AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan. Footy fans will also be treated to a live performance by Australian music icon Paul Kelly.

On Friday morning, fans can join David Koch, Natalie Barr, Mark Beretta, Sam Mac and Edwina Bartholomew, live from 5.30am AEST at Federation Square in Melbourne for a special AFL Grand Final edition of Australia’s #1 breakfast show, Sunrise. AFL Grand Final entertainment headline act Robbie Williams will chat exclusively to Sunrise.

Ahead of the monumental clash, fans can catch a glimpse of the 2022 AFL Premiership Cup and watch live performances from British singer-songwriter Tom Grennan and Australian football music legend Mike Brady as he performs Up There Cazaly.

On Grand Final day, viewers can start their morning with Weekend Sunrise AFL Grand Final Day Special live from the MCG, including appearances from iconic football stars of today and yesteryear and all the colour and excitement from the ‘G.

Following Weekend Sunrise this Saturday, Seven’s Grand Final Day coverage will feature:
• Seven’s pre-game coverage from 9.00am AEST will take fans into the annual Grand Final Brunch.
• The 2022 AFL Grand Final Countdown kicks off from 10.30am AEST, where hosts Luke Darcy, Jude Bolton, Jobe Watson and Darcy Moore take viewers inside the Grand Final build-up at the MCG, while football’s leading experts and news-breakers will have all the pre-game analysis and breaking developments covered.
• Kicking off from midday AEST, Seven will take viewers to every moment live at the MCG for the Grand Final Pre-Game Show. Before the premiership decider, fans will enjoy pre-match entertainment headlined by Robbie Williams, while Mike Brady will perform Up There Cazaly. Abbey Gelmi will sit down for a one-on-one interview with Robbie Williams and the last Geelong Premiership Captain, Cameron Ling, chats with Cats skipper Joel Selwood in the lead-up to the big game.
