Six part drama series Vienna Blood returns for a second season on SBS.
It begins with a double episode.
1900s Vienna, a hot bed of philosophy, science and art, where a clash of cultures and ideas collide in the city’s grand cafés and opera houses. A brilliant young English doctor Max Liebermann, and detective inspector Oskar Rheinhardt investigate a series of unusual and disturbing murders. Max’s extraordinary skills of perception and psychology and Oskar’s forceful tenacity lead them to solve some of Vienna’s most mysterious and deadly cases.
Episode One: The Melancholy Countess Part One
In what looks like suicide, a Hungarian countess drowns in her bath in a luxury hotel suite, with scrutiny falling on her psychoanalyst Max Liebermann.
Episode Two: The Melancholy Countess Part Two
Oskar Rheinhardt and Max work together as they investigate the countess’s death and try to clear Max’s name.

This show probably could end up having a reasonable run, with season 3 recently given the green light for production. Vienna Blood is one of the better period / detective drama series that’s been thankfully released on FTA TV and another interesting find by the SBS, streaming apps like Stan could have grabbed this series had they been more on the ball.
