Is Sarah Abo about the be announced as the new Today host alongside Karl Stefanovic?

The tom-tom drums are beating that Sarah Abo will soon be announced as the new co-host of Today alongside Karl Stefanovic.

The role is expected to be confirmed when Allison Langdon inherits the A Current Affair primetime gig.

Sources suggest Nine will announce the change on Sunday.

Syrian-born Abo joined Nine in 2019, joining 60 Minutes after 6 years at SBS on SBS World News, Dateline covering the FIFA World Cup, Paris Climate Conference, US presidential election, conflict in Afghanistan,  Royal Commission into Child Sexual Abuse, the official visit to Australia of Chinese President Xi Jinping. She was previously with 10.

Yesterday taloids made much of a Nine staff farewell for Tracy Grimshaw in which she appeared to ‘snub’ a hug from Langdon as she was showered with praise by colleagues.

Grimshaw later said, “I’m sorry I missed you, was so overwhelmed and obviously didn’t see your petite head once Karl’s big boofhead loomed into vision. Argh, big sorry x.’’

  2. Sarah Abo would be a much better host for ACA she has the chops for that type of show and has been one of the best on 60 minutes, not sure Langdon will be able to hold her own when the going gets tuff with certain issues or people. Just my personal opinion.
