Married at First Sight upstages Survivor, Idol on Sunday.

After Seven led in news, Nine took charge from 7pm and easily won Sunday night.

Here comes another week of one dominant reality show and two others fighting over the scraps.

60 Minutes returned to 623,000 eclipsing a Vera repeat (453,000). Maternal premiered at just 186,000.

  1. Harsh comment warning: Idol, flop. 7Bravo, flop. Maternal, flop and also easily defeated by ACA and 60 Minutes = Seven disaster in broadcast and bvod total people and key demos with no signs of improvement = painful few months, even AFL won’t be able to do much.

People call for 10 to pack up shop… Maybe Seven should join them.

  2. 7-something running Law & Order and L&O:SVU from what seems to be S1. Just fine for me 7:30-10:30. Still with those hideous quarter-screen ‘pop-ups’ unfortunately.

  3. Honestly I don’t get the appeal of MAFS. Never have and never will. It’s terrible television. I watched a bunch of episodes last year just to see and quit after a week….Also I know consolidated hasn’t come in yet but based on overnights Idol is pretty disappointing. Maybe it wasn’t the right time to return after all. It’s been ok but there hasn’t been anyone outstanding. There has been no wow factor yet. Could also be due to the fact recent Voice and AGT contestants weren’t allowed to compete. Takes away so much of the talent pool right there. Be interesting to see if it lifts when live shows come around.

    1. Did we really need a 2nd week of Idol audition episodes? It felt like that had been done enough by the end of last week, and this week would have been a good time to progress to the next step.

      1. The episodes are too long and the hosts are awful. Ricki-Lee Coulter should stick to radio. At one point last week I tuned in and they were telling me what the Gold Coast was famous for. I get they need to establish where the auditions are taking place, but in this day and age does an Australian audience really need to be told what capital cities are famous for? Waste of time, just get into the singing and stories.
