More cast confirmed for Neighbours return

Annie Jones, Rebekah Elmaloglou, Georgie Stone, and Tim Kano will return as series regulars, with Ian Smith, April Rose Pengilly & Melissa Bell as guest stars.

More cast have been announced for the return of Neighbours on 10 and Prime Video.

Annie Jones (Jane Harris), Rebekah Elmaloglou (Terese Willis), Georgie Stone (Mackenzie Hargreaves) and Tim Kano (Leo Tanaka) will return as series regulars, alongisde Stefan Dannis (Paul Robinson), Jackie Woodburne (Susan Kennedy), Alan Fletcher (Dr Karl Kennedy) and Ryan Moloney (Jarrod “Toadfish” Rebecchi).

Ian Smith (Harold Bishop), April Rose Pengilly (Chloe Brennan) and Melissa Bell (Lucy Robinson), will all return as guest stars.

Production is set to commence this Autumn, with a world premiere slated for this Spring.

Network 10, which aired Neighbours for 36 years, will retain first-run rights in Australia for the new chapter of the series, and episodes will be available ad free on Prime Video in Australia seven days later.

“We are thrilled to announce the latest round of returnees and there will be more in the coming months. The next chapter of Neighbours will be a wonderful mix of the familiar and the new. It will be the Erinsborough we love and remember, with fresh twists and surprises,” said Herbison.

Previous seasons as well as many iconic episodes are currently available to stream on Prime Video in Australia and New Zealand.

The series will premiere for free, exclusively on Amazon Freevee in the UK and U.S. and stream on Prime Video in Canada, Ireland, New Zealand and South Africa.

  3. I couldn’t click on this article quick enough! Great to see these characters all returning. I’d rather have April guest star than not at all. Maybe it’s because she has other work on at the moment making it hard to go permanent? Would love to see Aaron and David back. Also Amy Greenwood and Melanie. Would also love for Nicolette to return, her scenes with Paul are brilliant. Looking forward to hearing who else is in the new season!

I wish they would bring back erinsborough news not shitty west warrahtah star,eden hills university and radio station and maybe bring back Jordan Patrick smith as Andrew Robinson,jordy Lucas as summer hoyland,Lucas fitsgerald played by Scott major,Chris pappas,Bailey willis and mason Willis and Natasha Williams and new characters as well

    1. The last few years of Neighbours 2.0 heavily relied upon returning characters. Annie Jones, Lucinda Cowden, Geoff Paine, Richard Huggett and Jacinta Stapleton all returned as regulars. Plus there were a lot of guest appearances from old favourites even before the finale.

  7. I binged a few classic episodes on Prime on the weekend and it brought back so many good memories. I’m really looking forward to the new episodes, but as much as I like Jane I can’t see her without Mike now.

  8. No disrespect to the fabulous Annie Jones, but I would have been quite happy living the rest of my days safe in the knowledge that Jane and Mike had ridden of into the sunset somewhere on Mike’s motorbike.

  9. Would love to see Peter O’Brien return for a 6 month stint as Shane Ramsay – thought he was great at the end of Neighbours 2.0.
    Watching some of the classic episodes on Freeve it really highlights how it lost its family connection – lots of random young people with no real bond.
    Neighbours 3.0 needs a new family like the Willis’ or Scully’s. Perhaps that’s how the reboot will start with a new family moving into the street?

I’m surprised about Georgie Stone returning, I have a feeling they will have a big story lined up for her from the get go and perhaps how they sold it to her, wouldn’t surprise me if she is only there for 6 months to a year. I feel she is building her profile outside of Neighbours. Her acting improved immensely over the course of her last tenure, another reason why a show like Neighbours must exist to nurture talent like Georgie.

    I am more shocked that April Rose isn’t returning in a full-time capacity, for me she is leading lady and thought she would be a driving force and character in NuNeighbours

    Therese returning was a no brainer, I love Rebekah Elmaloglou and have done so since she first shouted her first Rack Off in Home and Away!

    Glad Jane is returning they could have her living in Ansons Corner with Mike, but Mike is never seen but Jane is still around everywhere!

    More announcements please, it is now due to start filming next month!!!!!

  11. David what direction in storylines do you think Neighbours 3.0 will take? what do you think the producers will do to attract new viewers?
    I’m looking forward to it but I am hoping there is some change in the theme of storylines.

    1. Feels like it may move forward in time, but hard to say. I would still expect humour in the drama, multi generational plots. If it is too radically different it will risk alienating core audience.

  12. Bek returning is the best news, she is great asset for the show. I feel Annie and Georgie’s characters have run their course, but hopefully The Herb can put a fresh new spin on them, especially if Jane’s son comes back.

    Tim’s Leo is an understandable returnee given the father/son connection to Paul Robinson, but is honestly a consolation returnee.

    Looking forward to hearing if Matt, Tak and Charlotte return, or even part of that trio.

    Phoebe and Lucinda would also be great gets, but top of the wish list should be Kym Valentine – even if for a guestie.

  13. I’m content with the returnees although I’d like to see Lucinda Cowden, phoebe Roberts (great actor and interesting character) and Charlotte Chimes back. But I think the rest of the cast should be made up of new blood, interesting characters occluding .Joe Klocek (Byron) and Lachlan Miller (Richie). A footnote in episode one could explain what happened to the rest of the previous cast. Hopefully they can work out more guest appearances from other characters. Interesting to see the next announcements
