  1. Gogglebox has got me watching some shows that either 1) I did not know about but thought would give a go after seeing on their show, 2) I had forgotten about despite seeing the story here on TVT or 3) I thought I would not like based on stories, reviews, etc, but gave it a go after seeing on Gogglebox. As much as I feel the show is too set up now compared to earlier seasons, I still watch it for this reason, and don’t mind if MAFS is on every week as it is all everyone talks about, even on morning radio shows!

  2. I noticed this with the first episode of Googlebox this season, the content was dominated by the three big reality shows currently on screen. It gets a bit dull if they only review the same shows each episode but I assume there is a bit of a push from the other networks around what they can provide footage of. Extended clips from dramas and other scripted material probably incurs rights fees as well.

    1. Gogglebox will always, always do reality shows because a) they are popular and there is easy familiarity b) dramas require a lot more set up to explain, especially if new c) same production company makes several titles. I would expect Seven sketch comedy next week.

  3. Is it just me or does this season of Gogglebox seem very flat? Getting a bit repetitive watching the same bunch of people watch the same shows (MAFS already been on twice this season).
I think it needs bit of a shakeup with new families and more variety in the types of show they watch.

    1. The comments from the various families are becoming more ‘look at me’, and they have definitely lost the impromptu freshness of earlier seasons. I used to enjoy the comments of the voice over personality, funnier and well placed, but they seem to have gone missing.
I gave up half way through last week’s episode, and won’t bother anymore. I agree with you, let’s have some new people watching.
