Clean Sweep

Shelly Mohan is outwardly an unassuming housewife and mother. She works hard to take care of her three children and husband, Jason, a local detective. Out of the blue, Shelly is confronted by her criminal ex-boyfriend who threatens to expose her true identity and destroy her life. Caught between the past and the present, she makes a fatal choice that forces her to cover up one from the other and vice versa. Hiding from her husband and by extension law enforcement, she becomes embroiled in a world of deceit and danger.
Stars Charlene McKenna (Bloodlands, Vienna Blood) and Barry Ward.

Sisi (Season 2)
All six episodes available. In German with English subtitles
Sisi is a beautifully lush period drama based on the complex life of historical figure, Elisabeth of Austria, whose love of freedom and promise to give the Habsburg monarchy a gentler face captivated Europe. In season two, the joyous arrival of an heir for Sisi and Franz is soon overshadowed by renewed power struggles in Europe: Bismarck threatens to plunge Austria into war. Sisi tries with all her might to be there for her husband and her people, but despite demonstrating her diplomatic talent over and over, she remains the bird in a golden cage. As she takes on more political responsibility, Sisi discovers new strengths and weakness drawing from her past, which she must navigate to lead the people and her loved ones into the future.
Sisi S2 will also air at a later date on SBS.

Limbo
All six episodes available. In Swedish with English subtitles.
A late-night phone call changes everything for Ebba, My, and Gloria: news that their respective sons have been involved in a serious car crash. The events that follow put their friendship and priorities to the ultimate test. With Ebba’s son Jakob hovering between life and death, the three women find themselves in a devastatingly uncertain situation.
Stars Sofia Helin (The Bridge), Rakel Wärmländer and Louise Peterhoff.

One Response

  1. Season one of Sisi was better than I expected, but shouldn’t be compared to the 1955 Austrian film of the same name (often screened on the SBS) which was the first part of a movie trilogy starring the beautiful Romy Schneider, this highly romanticised movie series became the most popular German language movie production at that time. I would say that this Sisi TV series will be a trilogy as well.
