Oops. Login issues at 9Now hamper State of Origin

Updated: Nine apologises after viewers take to social media to complain about problems accessing State of Origin.

Demand for State of Origin appears to have caused some technical problems for 9Now last night.

Some viewers took to social media platforms to complain about login problems, resulting in error messages.

It followed similar errors for Origin in 2019.

Amongst other complaints:

-Anyone else can’t get onto 9now?

-Come on @9now. Half the game gone. Don’t buy the rights if you can’t deliver the goods. Funny that the Ads load just fine tho!

-Fixed at the end of the first half. How were you not prepared for this happening due to an increased audience.

-Patience……I nearly threw my phone through the TV. The best game of the year and you do this…disgusting.

-Why isn’t the game being streamed on the android smart TV app? There’s only a 40 second preview video showing.

-Great work you twats, any fix for the lag?

-But also, you can’t even watch it on the 9now app if you weren’t already logged in! Their login screen errors out.

-@9Now not sure how you expect watching digitally if apps and website are not working for state of origin.

-I wonder how stressed the @9Now Infrastrutcture team are right now

Updated:

A Nine spokesperson advised, “There was a login issue which happened after the game started and it affected a small number of new users and was resolved. For those impacted the start over button enabled them to watch from the commencement of the game.”

  1. Toughest game in the world,…State of Origin Game 1…hoping for a great contest tonight……had to tape the beginning….so no one call me…quoted Jimmy Barnes on Facebook…..he had the right idea.

  2. I streamed the game on my 9now via my Samsung TV and it was fine. During the final few minutes of the game, it inexplicably cut off the stream and went to black. I thought in my head, how could this happen? I was so annoyed when streaming cuts off and sadly, I had to put up with the Nine’s commentary team.
