Wimbledon hits 9Life
So much sport on one night, Nine has had to resort to extra multichannels.

In an unusual programming quirk, Wimbledon will be seen on 9Life in Perth this Friday.
It screens at 6pm on 9Life for 90 minutes.
The move is the result of a timezone conflict with 6pm Nine News (Nine), Ashes Series (9GO!), NRL (9GEM) and Wimbledon (9Life).
But WA viewers will have to watch the bouncing ball, it moves to 9GO! at 7:30 then 9GEM at 8:40pm.
Last week a Womens Rugby Union match screened on 9Life in Adelaide and Perth.
Corrected.

It’s not unusual to see sport on 9Life. Back when Channel 7 had the rights to the Tokyo Games, The Tokyo Games were shown on 7Flix in Perth (due to 7News and AFL on 7 and 7mate respectively). The Olympics were shown on four different channels during the Games, 7, 7Two, 7mate and 7Flix.
It’s moments like this that we need a dedicated sports channel on free to air, like the old One HD. There is so much content now, but everyone is putting it behind a paywall (streaming sevices), and no doubt with the current crisis, people will gradually get rid of streaming, so I think we need a dedicated sports channel on free to air.
The dedicated sports channel was basically used for niche sports not the flagship sports mentioned in this article.
Netball showed on 9 Life in selected markets in 2019 https://tvtonight.com.au/2019/07/netball-world-cup-2019-aus-v-nz.html
They may as well skip the 90 mins considering the picture quality of 9Life.
Just watch it on 9now pretty sure its HD on there
