Auditions: The Floor

Contestants on The Floor face each other in head-to-head trivia duels.

“Calling Aussies living or planning a holiday in the UK, Ireland or Europe.”

Casting has opened for Australian contestants for game show The Floor, a Dutch format produced by Eureka.

Eureka produces a US version for FOX, hosted by Rob Lowe, which films in Ireland, but the Australian version will film in the Netherlands.

“Do you love trivia? Do you have what it takes to conquer The Floor? This smash-hit game show is now casting for Aussies who want to win a fantastic cash prize. Contestants on The Floor face each other in head-to-head trivia duels, with the winner taking home a fantastic cash prize,” says a casting notice.

Applicants must be Australian, aged 18 years and over, be able to travel for up to one week for filming in a European location.

Quiz shows filmed overseas, such as Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune, are increasingly asking for expat Australians based in other countries to apply, meaning travel is not always supplied.

The Floor will provide travel within Europe but not from Australia.

      1. They mean it’s one group of contestants over the course of 1 season of 6-8 episodes. There’s no way you could do this format with a new group every episode. 81 contestants with their own special subjects face off in duels and whittle down to 1 major prize winner at the end. A minor prize of $20,000 goes off every episode for the player with the most squares at the end to motivate players to continue to duel.

  1. Great Head2Head segment and the US series is a lot of fun -> good clips on TikTok. What a shame this series is being shot in Sydney, opportunity lost to utilise the Docklands larger studio spaces/Stage 6. (Unless all booked out with films?)

  2. Okay, super excited for the Floor to come here. I saw the US version and was hooked.
And I understand from a costs perspective why they film in other countries, but I wish they would film her.
