Sci-fi series Halo, starring Pablo Schreiber, has been axed by Paramount+ after two seasons.
Producers Amblin Television, Xbox and 343 Industries are reportedly shopping the series around in the hopes of finding it a new home.
“We are extremely proud of this ambitious series and would like to thank our partners at Xbox, 343 Industries and Amblin Television, along with showrunner and executive producer David Wiener, his fellow executive producers, the entire cast led by Pablo Schreiber as Master Chief and the amazing crew for all their outstanding work. We wish everyone the best going forward,” Paramount+ said in a statement.
343 Industries added, “We deeply appreciate the millions of fans who propelled the Halo series to be a global success and we remain committed to broadening the Halo universe in different ways in the future. We are grateful to Amblin and Paramount for their partnership in bringing our expansive sci-fi universe to viewers around the world.”
Halo also stars Natascha McElhone, Jen Taylor, Bokeem Woodbine, Shabana Azmi, Natasha Culzac and Olive Gray.

It is to be remembered that the first season of Halo was produced in the midst of COVID restrictions.
As a non gamer I viewed this series as a work of sci-fi entertainment and visually it was pleasing to watch, but as a story less so. The sci-fi genre has to be that little bit better than average to survive the continuing studio budget cuts.
I’ve never played the game and just couldn’t get into this show. I only lasted three of four episodes. I just didn’t find the story all that interesting.
Hope it finds another home, it was suprisingly decent.
As a devoted Halo player (yes really), I tuned out.
Just when you think you know a writer through over a decade of reading his output, you still manage to surprise me, David. 🙂
