Bruna Papandrea: “I will make a third season of Big Little Lies”

Adding to previous statements by Nicole Kidman & Reece Witherspoon last year, producer Bruna Papandrea yesterday confirmed a third season of Big Little Lies is on the way.

Speaking at Future Vision summit in Melbourne, she was asked about her track record in turning existing IP into successful screen projects.

Papandrea indicated her best successes had come from making television that she wants to watch. Noting that many TV execs had then wanted to replicate its success, she also confirmed a third season.

“One of the things I learned early on was like, ‘Oh, we want that. We want to make Big Little Lies’ But I don’t want to make that again, you know?,” she said.

“I mean, no offense. I will make a third season. When I say I don’t want to make that again, I will make more, but I don’t want to make a different show that’s like that, you know?

“Or maybe I will in like, a Korean-American community. I’d watch that Big Little Lies.”

She added, “What you have to know is none of us really know anything.”
