RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under Season 2 runner-up, Kween Kong, has joined RuPaul’s Drag Race Global All Stars.
The New Zealander competes alongside drag queens including Alyssa Edwards (USA), Athena Likis (Belgium), Eva Le Queen (Philippines), Gala Varo (Mexico), Kitty Scott-Claws (UK), Miranda Lebrao (Brazil), Nehellenia (Italy), Pythia (Canada), Soa de Muse (France), Tessa Testicle (Germany) and Vanity Vain (Sweden).
The new series adopts an ‘Olympics of Drag’ theme, but it isn’t clear if that could be a copyright problem…
Meanwhile S4 of Drag Race Down Under will premiere later this year.
RuPaul’s Drag Race Global All Stars comes not long after we saw another Down Under alumni, Hannah Conda, become a runner-up earlier this year on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK vs The World, proving that Australian and NZ queens have what it takes to compete on an international level.
Now in its fourth walk around the werkroom, the new season of Stan Original Series Drag Race Down Under will premiere later this year in time for the party season, signing off a full year of non-stop drag excellence. With Michelle Visage in the highly regarded role as host for the first time in the 15 year history of the Drag Race franchise, Rhys Nicholson will also be returning on the main panel alongside Down Under drag royalty.
RuPaul’s Drag Race Global All Stars is produced by World of Wonder Productions with Fenton Bailey, Randy Barbato, Tom Campbell, Steve Kelly, Andrés Barragán, and RuPaul Charles serving as Executive Producers. Daniel Blau Rogge serves as Executive Producer for MTV Entertainment Studios and Julie Ha serves as Supervising Producer, with Margaret Goodman as Executive in Charge.
Friday 16 August on Stan.

Very strong cast, and I’m so glad there’s only one US representative (but in Alyssa Edwards, damn they picked one of the best!).

On a completely separate note it is a massive shame there are no contestants for Drag Race Espana …..
I will say Kween Kong is a amazing choice especially as a lot of the drag queens who appeared on Down Under would struggle against a lot of the European Drag Queens.
