FOX renews Eureka’s The Floor

Quiz show produced by Australia's Eureka gets the green light for two more US seasons.

US broadcaster has renewed quiz show The Floor, hosted by Rob Lowe for two more seasons.

The series is produced by Australian / US based Eureka Productions from a Talpa format.

The format sees 100 contestants on a massive, interactive LED game floor featuring 100 squares, each representing a different trivia category. Through a series of quiz duels contestants will claim more of the board in their quest to win the game.

Michael Thorn, President of the FOX Television Network said, “Fans loved the first season of The Floor so much that we’ve ordered two more seasons of this breakthrough game show with plans already underway to make our epic battle of the brains even bigger and bolder. It’s also been a massive win to have a huge star like Rob Lowe as our host, and both our viewers and competitors can’t wait to see him back in action.”

“I couldn’t be happier with The Floor phenomenon and the opportunity to create more unscripted projects with my partners at FOX,” added Lowe.

An Australian version is in the pipeline with expat contestants to film a series in Amsterdam.

The Floor is produced by Eureka Productions, Talpa and BiggerStage. John de Mol, Mark van Achterberg, Chris Culvenor, Paul Franklin, Wes Dening, Sean O’Riordan and Shane Byrne serve as executive producers. Anthony Carbone serves as executive producer / showrunner, and Rob Lowe is producer.

  1. I heard they did the same as Jeopardy and all the contestants are expats living in Europe or people already planning to travel to Netherlands. Aussie TV producers are lame cheapskates. Its a good show, just shitty no one gets a real crack at it here in oz
