Larry Emdur sure has given away some big showcases in his time....none bigger than in 2005.

Gold Logie winner Larry Emdur sure has done a lot of TV flying hours hosting shows such as The Main Event, Cash Bonanza, Celebrity Dog School and Celebrity Splash.
But he will always be synonymous with The Price is Right which gave away huge prizes on TV.
In 2005 one Mega Showcase even offered a Queensland apartment, Alfa Romeo, Speedboat, Holiday to Canada and more!
The total prize worth over $641,000 would be worth $1.04m total in today’s currency (but I doubt it would stretch as far!).
Assisted here by Getaway‘s Ben Dark, Joanna had already won a $20,000 motorbike.
See what happened when she was offered thousands in cold hard cash…

Wonder why no one mentions his short stint on Wheel of Fortune? He’s true reason to be on Channel 7 back in 2005.If he didnt switch networks I wonder if The Price is Right would have gone on for a few more years on Channel 9?
I wonder what happened to Jo after? Where is she now and how was the apartment?
I remember the first version of “The Price Is Right” in 1973 hosted by Garry Meadows (RIP) in 1973 on the 0-10 Network, Ten 10 in Sydney.
I remember Jackie the co-presenter in a game involving her entering prices an NCR electro-mechanical cash register.
Anyway like a lot of game shows, the sets were bright and not today’s dark, gloomy and pixelly screens.
So if game shows are revived please have bright sets as in The Price Is Right (Garry Meadows, Turps), Wheel Of Fortune (Burgo), Sale Of The Century (Tony Barber), Blankety Blanks (Graham Kennedy), Celebrity Squares (Jimmy Hannan), It’s Academic (Andrew Harwood not dark and gloomy set made later).
Thanks
with the success of deal or no deal and tipping point maybe its time networks maybe in the endless drivle that are relaity shows maybe networks should look at reviving shows Wheel of Fortune Sale of The Century and the Price is right
But surely TV has more than enough game / quiz show panels on offer? 10 will screen Graham Norton’s WoF this year.
