Gold Logie nominee 2024: Sonia Kruger

"Everyone who is nominated deserves the Gold and the right thing to do would be for me to step down and give someone else a turn," teases Seven's Sonia Kruger.

How does it feel to be a Gold Logie nominee for 2024?
I feel like I’ve only just gotten home from the last after party, but it’d be rude not to freshen up and do it all again, wouldn’t it?

What’s been the highlight of your TV work over the past year?
Dancing With The Stars with Dr Chris Brown for sure. Getting to work with someone so funny, intelligent and professional… must have been a real thrill for him. Jokes aside… it’s a rare thing in television to find someone you have genuine and immediate chemistry with. He’s a great partner to have on the dance floor.

Give us your best campaign lobbying… why should viewers vote for you?
Far be it from me to encourage gambling but longer odds equals a bigger return. So if you enjoy winning money, what have you got to lose? Apart from some money.

If you should be lucky enough to win, where will the award go?
Next to my framed acceptance speech from last year.

If not you… then who?
Look, everyone who is nominated deserves the Gold and the right thing to do would be for me to step down and give someone else a turn. But last time I checked I’m not Joe Biden so bring it on!

  1. Kruger was found to have Muslims in 2019 and advocated closing the borders to Muslim people. On DWTS in 2018, she referred to her Melbourne Cup dress as being made by a “sweat shop of illegal immigrants” and then asked the musical director, Chong Lim, how his family was. And yet, here she is being nominated for yet another Gold Logie. After comments like those, the fact that she is still working on Australian TV is appalling, let alone being nominated for its top award.
