Sunrise 426k v Today 336k. Notwithstanding the excellent numbers for nine and the Olympics, sevens news and sunrise maintained their numbers more or less throughout. No doubt some welcome rare positive news for seven in the current climate.
…or that ratings box holders for the most part, are unlikely to have viewing habits impacted by TV networks’ internal dramas which they haven’t been directly affected by. Sadly, I suspect it’d likely take one of our high-profile newsreaders or presenters to be caught up in some absolutely massive controversy (ala, Huw Edwards/This Morning in the UK or Brian Williams almost a decade ago) for any effect on ratings to happen.
Aside from that observation, it seems like bumping Gogglebox up to 7.30pm was a rare smart programming decision by Ten.
I still hope possible reviews of Sunday night’s Logies (which would their first since 2016 – a new experience for maybe half or more current households) and The Assembly will give Gogglebox some much needed spark though.
The Chase Australia has also bettered Tipping Point Australia (in both reach and average audience) for the last two nights. That hasn’t happened for about two months. Maybe Nine fatigue is setting in post Olympics.
