“Only took 43 years!” Tracy Grimshaw on assignment for 60 Minutes
Tracy Grimshaw teases her next gig at Nine.

Tracy Grimshaw is on assignment for 60 Minutes in what appears to be a profile on Elle Macpherson.
On Instagram she wrote “On assignment for @60minutes9 – only took 43 years! @ellemacpherson is in the ‘hood. Details to follow.”
Macpherson is releasing a book, simply titled Elle, and is on a speaking tour next month.
Tracy Grimshaw recently returned to screens in Do You Want to Live Forever? but the format didn’t lend itself much to her interview skills, with many commenting she could front a stand-alone interview show if Nine was keen.
60 Minutes at least could allow for profile pieces without the demands of a nightly current affairs roster.

“Macpherson is releasing a book, simply titled Elle, and is on a speaking tour”. Drumming up some free publicity for her book. Why Tracey, oh why?
If you’ve watched 60 Mins over the years it has always profiled actors, singers, sports, directors. It will depend on what she has to say, but a legit story.
It’s more likely that Elle McPherson’s people are paying for the interview –
using the segment as a vehicle to sell tickets for the upcoming tour.
And getting Tracey means they’re in safe hands, and won’t be subjected to the 60 Minutes Peter Overton/Tom Cruise style of “interviewing”.
They wouldn’t be paying for the interview but agree that management would have arranged her availability. The tour looks to be two shows. 60 Mins, 7News Spotlight, Sunday Night have all had celebrity interviews before concert tours go on sale etc. Even 7:30 will interview someone about a book etc.
To air at the special time of:
“whenever we decide to finish The Block that night”
