A second season of Mother & Son has been confirmed by ABC, to begin filming in Sydney later this year -which is very positive news given Denise Scott’s recent health challenges.
Denise Scott (Maggie) and co-star Matt Okine (Arthur) return for six new episodes produced by Wooden Horse (The Clearing, Stuff the British Stole).
This season welcomes director Shaun Wilson (Rosehaven, Frayed).
Wooden Horse joint CEO and Producer, Jude Troy said: “The return of the reimagined Mother and Son for a second season is testament to an enduring and beloved brand that continues to resonate with contemporary, multi-cultural Australia. It’s not a patch on the original. Ruth Cracknell and Garry McDonald irreplaceable. Why does this get multiple Logies nominations and Home & Away only receives 1?
How sweet you compared it to Home and Away….. but easily
Yes not as funny as the original.
This will be a surprise to many. It didn’t quite master the original.
Why? Who asked for this?
My sentiments exactly
Easy those people who watched it and throughly enjoyed it. This is the thing everyone shouldn’t compare it to the original and look at it separately
two of the three reasons I don’t like this new Mother and Son. I won’t share the third as I’ve been told not to talk about it.
1) it’s adult-oriented, the original was something you could sit down and watch with your family, sure there were some rude jokes, but not all the time
2) With all the differences they could have just changed the characters names and it’d be to the original Mother and Son what Back to the Future is to The Time Machine.
