Paramount+ has released a teaser trailer for Star Trek: Section 31, starring Michelle Yeoh, to screen in early 2025.
In the movie, Yeoh reprises her fan-favourite role as Emperor Philippa Georgiou – a character she played in Star Trek: Discovery’s first season – who joins a secret division of Starfleet. Tasked with protecting the United Federation of Planets, she also must face the sins of her past.
The new teaser also revealed a first look at a young Philippa Georgiou, played by Miku Martineau (Kate).
Star Trek: Section 31 also stars Omari Hardwick (Power), Kacey Rohl (Hannibal), Sam Richardson (Ted Lasso), Sven Ruygrok (One Piece), Robert Kazinsky (Pacific Rim), Humberly Gonzalez (Ginny & Georgia) and James Hiroyuki Liao (Barry).
Paramount+ also unveiled a first look clip from season three of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is based on the years Captain Christopher Pike manned the helm of the U.S.S. Enterprise. The series follows Captain Pike, Science Officer Spock, Number One and the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise, in the years before Captain Kirk boarded the starship, as they explore new worlds around the galaxy.
Cillian O’Sullivan (In From The Cold) will play the legacy role of Dr. Roger Korby, a character first introduced in Star Trek: The Original Series and portrayed by Michael Strong. O’Sullivan will be a recurring guest star in the upcoming season.
The series stars Anson Mount, Rebecca Romijn, Ethan Peck, Jess Bush, Christina Chong, Celia Rose Gooding, Melissa Navia, Babs Olusanmokun and Martin Quinn, along with special guest stars Paul Wesley and Carol Kane. The series is produced by CBS Studios, Secret Hideout and Roddenberry Entertainment. Alex Kurtzman, Akiva Goldsman, Jenny Lumet, Henry Alonso Myers, Aaron Baiers, Dana Horgan, Davy Perez, Frank Siracusa, John Weber, Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth serve as executive producers.
The new season is set to debut in 2025 and has also been renewed for a fourth season.

Section 31 looks awful. Who is that for?
I like Strange New Worlds but have grumbles about how the cast is divided between adults and people who act like emotional 14-year-olds. Weird teacher-student dynamic as opposed to everyone being professionals. It’s still good though. That said, that clip is bad, it just shows the people making the show don’t understand Star Trek lore.
Vulcan’s adherence to logic isn’t genetic. It’s a cultural and philosophical choice. Vulcans are naturally very emotional and intense beings, but they follow a strict philosophy of logic to control and suppress these emotions.
The Romulans are the same race who embrace their emotions. I know this sounds like nerd stuff, I get it’s to be funny but this is central basic Star Trek lore. It’s fundamental and has been explored in Trek to such a large extent that the premise of that clip should never be conceived by anyone who knows Star Trek.
So no SNW in 2024 … disappointing.
