The Amazing Race Australia: Celebrity Edition: promo

New teams on 10 race through South America, Africa, and Asia.

10 has dropped its first promo for the new season of The Amazing Race Australia: Celebrity Edition, again hosted by Beau Ryan.

Racing through South America, Africa, and Asia, the winner will receive $100,000 for their chosen charity.

The new teams are:

Ian Thorpe & Christian Miranda – Best Mates
Nat Bassingthwaighte & Mel Sheldrick – Sisters
Chloe Logarzo & Emily Gielnik – Matildas Teammates
Pete Helliar & Bridget Helliar – Married
Jett Kenny & Lily Brown – Couple
Luke McGregor & Julie McGregor – Son & Mother
Billy Brownless & Oscar Brownless – Father & Son
Cyrell Paule & Eden Dally – Couple
Havana Brown & Stephanie Wood – Best Friends
Brooke McClymont & Adam Eckersley – Married Country Singers
Tai “Bam Bam” Tuivasa & Logan Tuivasa – Brothers

An airdate is yet to be confirmed but this is likely to follow the season of Hunted.

  1. I don’t like these celebrity versions of Amazing Race. There’s no real incentive for the players to win, because they get an appearance fee anyway, and the winnings go to charity. Therefore they don’t engage competitively, and only use the opportunity for goofy self-promotion, and to build their press profile. In the previous season, I tuned out from boredom after 20 minutes.

    1. I soft agree with you, but I think it’s less of an issue on TAR compared to other, more seriously competitive formats (Survivor). TAR at its best is competitive but also fun.

      I also do think the big weak point with the last season was the lack of variety of locations (Malaysia, Cambodia and India).

      And I do think that this cast does look like a better cast and I hope they deliver.

      But I hope they do a normie edition next year.
