Bosch: Legacy confirms final season

Titus Welliver crime drama to end with upcoming third season.

Harry Bosch will be ending his journey on the upcoming third season of Bosch: Legacy, expected in March 2025.

The series follows Bosch (Titus Welliver) after he leaves the LAPD to become a private detective, based on the novels by Michael Connelly.

It also features Mimi Rogers, Madison Lintz, Stephen A. Chang, and Denise G. Sanchez.

Vernon Sanders, Head of Television at Amazon MGM Studios, said “For 10 years, Bosch and Bosch: Legacy have been two of our most defining series for Prime Video, Freevee and Amazon MGM Studios. They are a testament to the enduring power of the storytelling universe that Michael Connelly built for the fans. We are proud of the impact these series have made, and we are excited that Michael, Titus, Henrik and the creative team have more engaging stories to tell in the Bosch world with the final season of Bosch: Legacy, our new Ballard series and more to come.”

Connelly, who also executive produces the series, said, “I am so proud of what we have accomplished with this show. Ten years ago I asked Titus Welliver if he could stick with Harry Bosch for five seasons, and he said he could do it forever. Well, five became 10, and the character, thanks to Titus, will live forever in the hearts of viewers and in the streaming world as the detective who knows that everybody counts or nobody counts. The good news here is that we have not seen the last of Harry Bosch. As in the books, Bosch is part of the Renée Ballard world, and I can’t wait for the next chapter to open.”

The Bosch universe will live on in a new spin-off arriving in 2025 following Renée Ballard starring Maggie Q.

Bosch: Legacy screens on Prime Video and SBS.

  1. Creatively, Bosch Legacy did not quite click with me in the same way Bosch did, in my opinion when the original Bosch series finally concluded it was a suitable time for closure, Bosch and Titus Welliver had had a good run, but with three seasons of ‘Legacy’ completed, I was obviously wrong.

    1. No it’s not based on novels and Harry working for a defence attorney goes against his character. But Amazon needed something in between the Bosch Novels and Balland Novels. They still better than any other cop drama.

  2. I thought they might have got one more out, but 10 series actually has a nice roundness to it. I’ve been a fan since the late 90s when my dad chucked me a battered and dogeared copy of “The Black Echo” the summer I broke my leg.

But it might not be long before we see Harry again. The sixth book of the Renee Ballard series is out next month and he’s in 5 of them.
