Cameraman facing rape charges

A veteran Melbourne news cameraman will contest allegations he raped a woman.

The Herald Sun reports Shaun Ryan, 56, fronted Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Friday charged with multiple alleged rape offences.

Investigators alleged the events occurred more than 10 years ago and he was charged on August 29 last year.

The court heard Mr Ryan would seek to cross-examine multiple witnesses including the police informant and the alleged victim at a contested committal hearing.

His bail was extended to front a committal scheduled to commence on November 6.
