Renewed: Sherwood

UK crime drama has been renewed for a third series

UK crime drama Sherwood, has been renewed for a third series.

The series written and created by James Graham (Dear England, Quiz) features David Morrissey, Monica Dolan, David Harewood, Lorraine Ashbourne, Robert Lindsay, Perry Fitzpatrick, Christine Bottomley, Michael Balogun, Oliver Huntingdon, Bethany Asher and Lesley Manville.

James Graham says: “It continues to be the greatest privilege to tell stories set in and inspired by the history of my home county of Nottinghamshire. Having a returning series on the BBC is pretty much every British writer’s dream, and I’m incredibly grateful for the continued passion that Lindsay, Charlotte and Jo have for Sherwood – and to everyone at House Productions, the most supportive producers you can have. My biggest appreciation though goes to our audiences and I’m determined to deliver for them in a series three, which will be a new set of stories, and the continuation – and completion – of some strands I’ve been dreaming of for some time.”

Season three will once again be written by Graham who will again be an executive producer alongside Juliette Howell, Tessa Ross and Harriet Spencer for House Productions and Jo McClellan for the BBC.

Sherwood has screened in Australia on ABC, Stan and BBC First.

    1. Not here in Australia. S2 finished its UK run 2 weeks ago. As I said in my earlier post it used to be on BBC First via Binge but BBC Studios shut BBC First down in Australia, so now we have to wait on them to decide when it will be available here. If you don’t want to wait then you have to use other means to do so … some of them are not so legal. Which was the point of my post.

  1. For S1 we got each episode immediately available on Binge. S2 finished in the UK earlier this month. So how long are we going to have to wait for S2?

As things stand today, the BBC/BBC Studios is only encouraging piracy in whatever form that takes.
