SBS revamps Monday nights

Docos out as SBS makes way for 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Have I Got News for You? U.S.

SBS is switching up Monday nights with entertainment titles instead of documentaries.

From Monday a brand-new season of British comedy game show 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown;  hosted by Jimmy Carr screens.

A week later British show Never Mind the Buzzcocks joins, hosted by Greg Davies (Taskmaster, Man Down) with team captains Noel Fielding (The Mighty Boosh, The Great British Bake Off) and Daisy May Cooper (This Country) and regular guest Jamali Maddix (Hate Thy Neighbour).

The American version of the long-running BBC comedy series Have I Got News for You? U.S. will be fast-tracked from the US. Host Roy Wood Jr. is joined by team captains Amber Ruffin and Michael Ian Black and comedians tesing their knowledge of current events.

SBS Channel Manager Natalie Edgar said: “SBS is excited to bring these three iconic, entertainment blockbusters to Australian audiences every Monday evening. We’ve been the free to air Aussie home of 8 out of 10 Cats for many years now and it’s a cross generational audience favourite. So, we’re giving viewers more of what they love with Never Mind the Buzzcocks and Have I Got News for You? U.S. providing a night of jam-packed entertainment to start the week right.”

8.25pm 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown premieres Monday 9 September on SBS
9.20pm Never Mind the Buzzcocks premieres Monday 16 September on SBS
10.05pm Have I Got News for You? U.S. premieres Monday 16 September on SBS

  1. Also on Monday, Viceland will be airing the unaired episodes of Celebrity Letters and Numbers, that there were dumped earlier in the year. Will air at 6pm for the whole week.

  2. I’m so excited that Buzzcocks is coming to Aus Finally! Back in the day we used to watch old eps on YouTube. Hilarious show, and a perfect match for Cats does Countdown. Yay!
