After shedding 162k viewers since Episode 1 and falling to 3rd in its timeslot, I really don’t think the ABC will want The Assembly to drop too much further in the ratings!
Mind you, 415k is still positively respectable for The Assembly by ABC standards (even though it’d likely be slightly higher if the full season wasn’t dropped on iView in one hit…) compared to 149k for Made in Bondi on Seven! Like seriously, surely even a repeated program would receive more viewers than MIB at this rate?
Having said all that, from an interviewee perspective I think The Assembly possibly could’ve gone for a few stronger celebrities. Sam Neil was excellent while Amanda Keller will probably be good, but the others I can take or leave really. For any Season 2 of The Assembly, I’d hope they’d try and get an interview subject with an autism (Michael Theo? Chloe Hayden?) or at least disability link – perhaps someone among the lines of soon to be new Mum Sophie Delezio, if she happens to be available.
All Assembly eps are on iview so that will have some impact. It’s been very well received. Outback Truckers on 7mate again beat Made in Bondi, head to head for about half an hour.
